***PLEASE NOTE. THIS FUNDING PLAN IS YET TO BE APPROVED BY THE COMMITTEE. NO FUNDING WILL BE GIVEN UNTIL THIS HAS BEEN APPROVED***

One of the goals of the Club is to support our athletes' sporting endevours. The committee has recently approved a funding plan for the 2019-20 season to provide financial assistance for our athletes competing at competitions. This funding is available for all athletes from the elite to social level and intends to increase participation of our athletes at competitions.

A summary of the funding approved for the 2019-20 Track and Field season is shown below with full terms and conditions found here. This plan is subject to an annual review and will be reconsidered for the winter cross country season.

      • A pool of 'interstate' funding will be calculated at the end of the season by amount of funding leftover for Australian Events after all entry fees have been deducted.
      • This will be equally distributed amongst athletes competing in an interstate event regardless of how many they attended, capped at $200 per athlete.
      • Athletes may be required to show proof of flights, hotel bookings and other travel expenses showing they have spent an amount equal to or greater than the funding they can recieve. It is not intended that the funding provided be used to improve the financial position of an athlete, but rather help cover costs of attending a competition. Luxury travel costs may not be covered under the funding plan.

Other invitational or interstate events have not been included for funding in the 2019-20 season. Where an athlete recieves prize money (or any other financial aid) from Athletics NSW, Athletics Australia or an organiser to attend an event, no funding can be recieved from the funding plan outlined above. If the funding or prize money received is less than the total an athlete would have received from UNSW Athletics Club, some funding may still be recieved from the Club at the discretion of the Committee. The online fee is assumed to be the price of the event (any extra costs associated with 'on the day'/late fees will not be reimbursed). Athletes must compete in their UNSW Athletics Club Uniform (except where a state uniform is mandatory) and be representing the Club (evidence may be requested by the Committee). Funding will be awarded at the conclusion of the season. Athletes are required to keep track of receipts and may be required to provide this information to the Committee.
